During survival, you make use of everything at your disposal to survive. If you’re injured or gets an infection during such times there is a high chance that you will not have an access to conventional medicine for treatment. Luckily, you can make use of the herbs around you and speed up the healing process. A word of caution, though, do not use any herb if you are not sure of its properties. You may end up with toxic plants.
Here are a few common survival herbs
- Olive leaves
Olive leaves are powerful antioxidants that are used for a number of antifungal and anti-bacterial capabilities. It is also used to heal the joints and the cardiovascular system. Olive leaves are used either by boiling and taking the water or applying sap using raw leaves.
- Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is active against a number of tropical infections and other ailments. You can use the fleshy leaves to treat skin injuries, herpes simplex one and two, burns, staph bacteria infections as well as ringworms. You use its juice in its raw form for internal and external use.
Garlic is also an important vegetable that works great in treating a variety of conditions. You can use garlic for such conditions as Candida albicans, E.coli, staph bacteria, dysentery, tuberculosis, Influenza, herpes, HIV and many other conditions.
You can use fresh juice from garlic or utilize the cloves. Garlic can also be used in food. Use raw garlic in small doses to prevent stomach upsets. Eat lots of garlic in food.
This is a powerful immune stimulant and also a strong antibiotic. It is effective against such as malaria bacteria, tuberculosis, candida albicans, S. Mutans, staph and strep bacteria among other conditions. Do not overuse the herb as it might have some side effects.
- Lime and lemons
Lemon can be used as an antiseptic, deodorizer, sanitizer, and disinfectant. It also prevents scurvy and helps you deal with depression and stress. Lemons are also strong antioxidants and strong immune system booster. Use the lemon and lime in their raw form. Lemon is also effective against poison ivy by applying it directly to the skin.
- Echinacea (Echinacea augustifolia)
Echinacea is very effective against a variety of respiratory system illnesses such as strep throat, abnormal cells, tuberculosis, and staph bacteria. You only need a few drops or low concentrations of the herbs to get relief from a variety of conditions as described above.
